We really could have titled this website “The Many Miracles of God” because there have been miracle after miracle over the past 24 ¾ years and they haven’t stopped yet.
Many of you may not believe the new miracles I am about to relate to you, but they happened and I have no way to explain them except they are just another miracle from God.
For the past 12+ years we have had to suction1 Scott about every 2 hours, use an ambu bag2 with saline down his trach and bag him for several minutes several times a day to thin the mucus and suction it out.
On the 24th of October while watching the 700 Club on CBN they were praying for healing and I heard one of them say “Someone has a problem with their lungs and God is healing that now.” I was standing next to Scott’s bed and I immediately reached over and put my right hand over his left lung and left over his right.
Since then Scott’s oxygen saturation has remained around 100% and we only have to suction perhaps 4 or 5 times in a 24 hour period. Of course we suction his mouth every hour or so because he is unable to swallow or spit. This is a huge change from what we were doing before. Only God could have done that because it was immediate. Scott’s lungs didn’t just get better over time.
This past Tuesday morning Scott’s nurse woke me at 5AM. Scott’s pulse rate dropped to 38 beats per minute then went to 55, then 89, then 117, then 97, then 52, then 98. It kept jumping like that for some period of time and I did not know what could be causing it. I changed the sensor probe and that wasn’t the problem so I changed out the Pulse/Oximeter and that wasn’t the problem.
The only thing I could think to do was call an ambulance to take him to the ER and perhaps they could shock his heart back into rhythm.
Then I remembered in 2005 I had signed a DNR on Scott because he had a strong heart and if God stopped his heart no one was going to restart it. After remembering this, within just a few minutes his heart rate stopped jumping around and settled in the 55-70 range.
Coincidence? I don’t think so. I firmly believe it was God’s intervention once again. My prayer has been, for years, that I will be standing by Scott’s bed when Jesus comes and we will both go up to meet Him in the clouds.
Until next time, we love you all.

1. Suctioning is taking a catheter, connected to a suction machine, and running the catheter down the trache and pulling the mucous out of the lungs. You and I do this by coughing.
2. In a medical emergency, rescue workers can help a patient breathe using a squeezable bag with a face mask called the Ambu bag.
