“Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition” I believe was a well known phrase from WWII that describes our current position.
I am proud to proclaim that I am a Christian who believes that God created the universe and Jesus died for our sins. So we praise God for where we have been and where we are now.
On June 30, 2010, Scott will have been home from the hospital for two years. That alone is enough to thank God for his blessings. The consensus of the nursing staff at the hospital was that we would be back within 2 weeks. I guess they were shocked since we haven’t been back in 2 years.
God could take Scott to heaven today or tomorrow or anytime of His choosing but for now we are home and doing well. That is the “Praise the Lord” portion and now for the “Pass the ammunition” portion.
I mentioned in earlier updates about the nutritional supplements that help build the immune system from the cellular level. I began giving them to Scott July 3, 2005 and I believe this was the ammunition God used to help Scott’s immune system finally conquer the pneumonia after fighting it for over 7 months. I also believe this is what God has used to keep Scott well for the past 2 years. There are other stories of God’s miracles that explain why I believe God used these supplements to keep Scott alive.
We are still attempting to wean Scott from the ventilator but after over 5 years of having a machine breathe for him, it is a really “slow go” to get his body to build the strength to breathe on his own.
Why God has chosen to bless us as he has, I do not know, but I know if I were God I would not bless us at all because we do not deserve any blessings. I do believe that if I had faith no larger than a grain of mustard seed, Scott would be up and walking around now because this is what God’s word tells me and I believe that. I just do not know how to develop that much faith and I do not know of anyone who has or does.
